WHO I AM?
I have always been fascinated with Science, mostly Biology. On the last year (2018), I graduated in Agriculture Engineering at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (Brazil). On my last two and a half years of undergraduate, I got an extensive experience in scientific research doing experiments in a lab of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. During this time, I learned how to work in group and how to inspire people. Nowadays, I am a Ph.D. student in Biochemistry an Molecular Biology with emphasis in Microbial Metabolism and Microbial Ecology applied to Astrobiology and Geomicrobiology. I’m part of the project: ‘PROBING THE MARTIAN ENVIRONMENT WITH EXPERIMENTAL SIMULATIONS AND TERRESTRIAL ANALOGUES’ where my main goal is to understand the biomineral’ formation by iron-oxidizing bacteria and, therefore, propose some possible metabolic or mineral biosignature to detect past or present life on Mars.
